5/5 We bought a town house unit from Sunfield Homes in 2010; once again, closing date has been changed to early 2014. I can't believe it is taking this very reputable company 4 years to build these homes. Response from: Dominic on Feb 19, 2013 - 1:50 pm I agree with your comments...perhaps the builder is hoping that you and all other purchasers bail out so that they can resell for more money... but that is my opinion anyway. I have purchased 5 new homes previously and have never seen a builder take 4 years to build a home. Just down the street on the opposite side of Dundas Street, another builder has built at least 1000 homes over the last 2 years.

0/5 Sunfield Waterdown Phase II: We bought a single attached in April 2010. First move in was April 2011, then delayed until August 2011 and then December 2011 (these delays were for the water tower issue - Per Sunfield, they had to prove the water station would suffice for the phase rather than having to build a water tower). And then...We were delayed until August 2012 due to bedrock. I had asked the realtor and builders why they wouldn't know there was bedrock, did they not do surveys on the land before purchase. I didn't get a clear response for this question. And now we are delayed until Jan-March 2013 which I was told it was to wait for the gravel companies to re-open in May so they could put in roads. The roads are needed before the permits can be attained from the City. And now...we will be delayed AGAIN until June 2013 - I have yet to receive a letter for this, but apparently one is coming soon. This means it will be over 3 years from when we bought and over 2 years from our initial move-in date. The worst part is that other homes will be started and completed before we get ours. 5/5 Beware!!! Was supposed to move in Apr. '12 but was pushed to Aug. '13 and we only found out about it because we happened to call them to check up. 5/5 Terrible service. Have been delayed 3 times. No communication. Crystal does not have information and neither does Head Office. 0/5 Terrible customer service, no regard for clients. Over the year in which we purchased our home, we have only received one letter from them which was very vague. Continue to be fed stories about delays in getting samples when the real issue is obtaining permits from the City of Hamilton.
