My week has been really busy - Gary Chalk, the illustrator I work with, has been staying here for a few days, and we're working on new book ideas - plus we went to a thing called Starlit Festival to talk to a bunch of kids about the Sundered Lands series - and that was great fun! But now Claudia has gone to visit her family in Germany and Gary is back in France so it's just me and the cat for a few days. Very quiet!

The food in this place has definitely gone down hill. The variety is there but the quality is lacking. These buffet places seem to go through phases.
I was there with my clients from China. The food was horrible . The fish sunk and was rotten. The noodles, old and smellly . Pay a lot of cash complained and the manager did not agree with anything we said. Fine another buffet folks.
Definatley the most variety... typical chinese buffet though with regards to the atmosphere... its a busy spot sometimes so the food is good.. Ive been there a few times now and leave satisfied every time
I read the last reviewer about this restaurant and though I give it a try. I totally agree with his opinion of the quality of food and i truly believe it has the most variety of any buffet restaurant in Ottawa.
I was here before when it was called Dubarry and I found the food to be OK. Now that there is a change in ownership, I have been hearing lots of good comments about it. I tried it this weekend for the dim sum feature and it was excellent. The food was plentiful, hot and delicious. Thumbs up for the new owners.
The Emerald Buffett is located in Vanier on Montreal road. It provides a sushi bar, a Mongolian kitchen, a full Chinese buffet and a great series of Western dishes. There were four of us and we all raved about how tasty our choices were as we all had our own individual preferences.
